SCHEER PARTNERS REPRESENTS MACROGEN IN 6,800-SQUARE-FOOT LEASE AT 1330 PICCARD DRIVE IN ROCKVILLE

Rockville, MD – One of the top DNA-sequencing companies in the world has expanded the size of its local R&D facility by moving it to a new site in Montgomery County.

Scheer Partners, the leading provider of fully integrated commercial real estate services for the health science industry in the Washington and Baltimore metropolitan areas, announces today that it has negotiated on behalf of Macrogen in a 6,800-square-foot lease of laboratory and office space in Rockville at 1330 Piccard Drive, which is owned by Pasadena, Calif.-based Alexandria Real Estate Equities.

In this long-term lease relocation, Scheer Partners Senior Vice President Matt Brady and Associate Jamie Rash represented Macrogen, which previously occupied a smaller amount of space in the Shady Grove Innovation Center at 9700 Great Seneca Highway, also in Rockville.

Founded in 1997 and based in Seoul, Korea, Macrogen first established a U.S. presence in 2005, and it has other facilities in Cambridge, Mass., and New York. Overseas, the company also has sites in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and Tokyo.
