Scheer Partners Announces the Promotion of Mike Norris
Tysons Corner, VA (May 8, 2007) – Scheer Partners Inc., a leading provider of commercial real estate consulting services in the greater Washington metropolitan area, announced today the promotion of Mike Norris to Director.
The move comes as part of Scheer Partners’ strategic plan to answer the market’s demand for a shift away from the traditional brokerage model to a more specialized model focused on extensive in-house customer service lines. Currently, Norris completes over twenty projects annually, with a primary focus on emerging technology companies in Northern Virginia. Additionally, Norris supports customers through seminars for emerging companies and participation in industry organizations, such as the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) and the George Mason University Business Alliance. Norris’ new role will supplement these projects with financial analysis, in-depth project research and in-house transaction support.
“It’s fairly accepted that traditional real estate brokerage, as it’s existed for decades, is on its way out. The internet and availability of information is going to make it very hard to sustain a commercial brokerage under the old models,” said Robert Scheer, president of Scheer Partners. Norris’ new role of leveraging transactional experience and financial analysis will complement other Scheer Partners customer service lines including: construction management, investment sales and development.
Norris will continue to remain active on several NVTC committees and the GMU Business Alliance board as part of Scheer Partners ongoing efforts in Northern Virginia. “Growing technology companies cannot afford to treat real estate as a commodity; rather, their facility is an important part of their business strategy. Scheer Partners’ integrated services and regional focus will continue to provide the best platform for companies with specialized needs,” said Norris.
